Too many kilos on your dog

Overweight in your dog: beware, it’s a real concern!

A dog with a little round belly might look cute, but be careful—those extra kilos are dangerous! Nearly one in two dogs is affected by overweight, often due to table scraps, too many treats, or not enough exercise.

Why should you be worried? Because an overweight dog is at risk of serious diseases: heart problems, joint pain, diabetes, shortness of breath… and even a shorter life expectancy!

Warning signs: less interest in going for walks or playing, difficulty jumping, getting out of breath quickly, loss of energy, or even irritability. The key? Choose appropriate food (light kibble, no snacking), limit “extras,” and increase activity: walks, play, agility… Your dog needs to be active every day to stay healthy!

How to know if your dog is overweight:

Look at your dog from above: you should see a defined waist and be able to feel (but not see) their ribs. Your vet can help you adjust! Taking care of your dog’s figure truly gives them a better chance at a long and happy life.

A fit dog is love in XXL size… without the extra kilos! 🦴💚🐾
