Overgewicht bij je kat: let op, echt probleem!

A cat with a little belly is endearing... but be careful, being overweight is dangerous! Nearly one in two cats is affected, often due to leftovers, treats, or a lack of exercise.

Why be alarmed?

A cat that is too round risks serious illnesses: heart problems, joint pain, diabetes, shortness of breath... And even a reduced life expectancy! The signs that should alert you: less desire to play, difficulty jumping, shortness of breath, loss of energy, irritability.

The key?

Adopt a suitable diet (light kibble, no snacking), limit the "extras," and encourage your cat to move: feather toys, balls, cat trees... Even an indoor cat needs to be active for its health!

To find out if your cat is overweight:

Look at him from above: the waist should be defined, you should be able to feel (without seeing) his ribs.

Your vet can help you adjust! Taking care of your cat's weight gives them a real chance to live a long and happy life.

A fit cat is love in aXXL version... without the extra pounds! 🦴💚🐾
