In January 2012, we decided to adopt a dog. We therefore visited a nearby shelter. This is how Gus - an adorable 11 month old Münsterländer - became a member of our family. With Gus, it was love at first sight, but we soon realised that love alone wasn’t enough to raise a dog.
While we could always contact a vet with any health-related issues, many other questions quickly arose in relation to training, growth and diet, among others. Questions that required lengthy research before finding the relevant answers. Approaching holidays were also a source of anxiety with the difficulty of finding a good dog sitter. While you can trust your own dog, the same cannot necessarily be said for people.
Something was missing - the support of a community that we could trust and that loved animals, as much as we loved Gus. Dedicated people who could give us genuine advice. The need for such a community became increasingly obvious when we had to move house for work reasons. From a house in the country... to an apartment in the city. Because for us, the idea of putting Gus in a shelter was unthinkable.
This is why we launched Mopets in 2019. A unique platform where animal lovers can come together and help each other.
